I worked in Brazil for 5 years at the Centre of Zoonotic Disease Control, where the government offer free of charge yearly Rabies vaccinations for cats and dogs. As the team leader, I was responsible for managing a team of 15 Animal Care Assistants.
Following this role, I moved to England where I volunteered at the RSPCA as an Animal Care Assistant for 8 months. I was proud to be awarded the best volunteer of the year in 2018. I then worked at a small animal practice in Somerset where I was able to start my nursing training. In 2021, I joined the team at Newton Clarke Vets and I have a particular interest in imaging.
I have a crew of rescue pets consisting of 2 cats named Bia and Guinness and 1 dog, Ewok (he does look like an Ewok when his fur is long). In my free time, I like a good hike with Ewok and my husband followed by a nice BBQ in the garden.
After graduating I’m looking forward to improving my ultrasound skills to be able to better assist the vet team.
