Lucy Bagwell

My nursing journey started at Newton Clarke Vets when I was 17, where I worked for a year as an Animal Care Assistant. I then moved to another practice to train as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. A few years on and a couple of practices later I came “home” and wouldn’t want to nurse anywhere else!

I enjoy all aspects of my job, especially getting the poorly feline patients to eat their sardines in tomato sauce!

I’m proud to be a clinical coach, training the new student nurses, and learning new things along the way myself!

Outside of work I love being in the countryside or down by the sea!

Along with six dogs, two cats and a few chickens, I have a very special sheep called “Hotbox” who made her way into my life as a very tiny sick lamb. I nursed her for a few months at home, eating the contents of my garden! Now back at the farm she rules the yard and sees herself as more of a dog, loving a biscuit and ear scratch!
