CT Scanner:

Our Sherborne practice is equipped with a CT scanner. This allows us to see soft tissue and bones in incredibly fine detail, improving both diagnosis and treatment for pets. The non-invasive nature of a CT scanner means that pets are not subject to unnecessary procedures. We’re delighted to offer this service to our own clients and it allows us to offer referrals from other practices, too.

Modern equipment and an experienced team means we can cater for almost every eventuality presented to us as veterinary surgeons.

Digital X-Ray:

Both of our practices are equipped with state-of-the-art digital x-ray facilities. Digital x-rays produce high-resolution images that can be manipulated and enhanced, aiding diagnosis. The images are available instantly and require less radiation than traditional x-rays, meaning safer and more efficient veterinary care is possible. In addition, digital x-ray removes the need for chemicals and a darkroom, so it’s a more environmentally friendly option which fits with our sustainability values.

Ultrasound & ECG:

We offer ultrasonography and electocardiography (ECG) at both Yeovil and Sherborne.

Ultrasound is a safe, painless and non-invasive diagnostic tool which we can use to examine your pet’s internal organs and soft tissues, aiding diagnosis for a range of issues and conditions.

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is another non-invasive diagnostic test which allows our vets to monitor heart rate, rhythm and electrical activity. It can be useful to diagnose heart problems such as arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats), heart murmurs, and enlarged hearts.

Video Endoscopy:

Video endoscopy uses a small, flexible camera to visualise the inside of a pet’s body, for example, to examine the digestive tract or nasal passages. It can help identify issues such as foreign bodies, ulcers, inflammation or tumours. Not only can it identify issues, in some cases, it aids in treating issues, too – for example, removing a foreign body, without the need for surgery (though a general anaesthetic is required for endoscopy).

In-house Laboratory:

Our in-house laboratory has state-of-the-art blood machines and allows us to perform diagnostic tests such as blood tests, microscopy and urinalysis. Running in-house tests, where possible, allows for quicker results, meaning a treatment plan can be put in place for your pet as soon as possible.
