More than just a pet health plan – additional benefits!

With so many new pet owners registering with our practice over the last year, we wanted to write a blog all about our Pet Health Plan. This time, however, we have even more to cover! Read on to find out how joining this side of Christmas could provide you with a year’s worth of additional savings and access to additional veterinary support over the holidays.

What is a pet health plan?

Firstly, one of the most common questions we are asked is, ‘What is a pet health plan?’. To put it simply, our pet health plan is the most comprehensive and cost-effective way to give your pet everything they need to stay healthy. Pets require regular preventative care, and our plans go one step further. They give our pet owners numerous additional benefits, such as unlimited vet consultations! Paid for monthly via direct debit, membership to our plan provides:

  • Unlimited consultations
  • Primary & booster vaccinations (plus kennel cough for dogs)
  • Flea & tick protection
  • Worm protection
  • All treatments are delivered to your home, free of charge, every 3 months, using the most effective prescription-based products available
  • Access to VidiVet (more information below!)
  • Plus complimentary advice on diet, behaviour, dental health and training
  • With the added bonus that you will also benefit from no joining fee, no annual renewal fee and a fixed price for 12 months

It makes caring for your pet as easy as possible. It is also the most cost-effective way to do so! They say you can’t put a cost on peace of mind, but our plan provides everything you need to be reassured your pet is healthy and any potential issues are detected early. The perfect gift for Christmas one may think!

12 months of additional savings

In addition, we appreciate and empathise that the cost of living has been difficult of late. This is one of the many reasons membership to our plan is so beneficial. It spreads the cost of your pet’s basic essential preventative care. However, as our pet health plan membership price is fixed for 12 months, in joining this side of 2025, you will also benefit from being exempt from our annual price rise. You will therefore receive 12 months of additional savings! If you’d like to join now, you can do so here, conveniently via our website.

One of our pet owners commented, “This plan is a lifesaver! Shyla is a regular visitor and it’s such a peace of mind to know the appointment is covered.” Another also said, “I really appreciate the plan. I’m not sure how I would have been able to manage without it this year. Thank you”. No need to take our word for it!

Access to a vet when we are closed with VidiVet

There is another benefit of joining before the end of the year, however. At the beginning of this year, we introduced an additional service to our health plan – VidiVet! This was at no extra cost to our health plan members. This is an exclusive benefit, paid for by us, for you. VidiVet ensures that our pet owners have access to a UK-based vet when we are closed. On joining our health plan, you will be sent an exclusive link. This provides you with complimentary access to the app, downloadable to your mobile phone. The VidiVet team are available 365 days a year, 24/7.  No question or concern is too big or too small and they will send you a personalised video response within minutes.

Deciding whether you need to see an emergency vet over the holidays can not only be stressful, but also costly. VidiVet provides you with reassurance and guidance on the steps you should take. This ensures your pet receives the treatment it requires but also, could potentially save you on a costly out-of-hours visit. Did you know that 80% of our clients who have used VidiVet when our practice is closed have had their queries resolved without needing to visit an out-of-hours service?! VidiVet empowers our pet owners! In addition, VidiVet shares your ‘online consultation’ information with our team so that your pet receives complete continuity of care.

A final word on our pet health plan

We have designed our plan with you and your pets in mind. A health plan, whilst each differs from practice to practice, at its most basic level is to provide pets with their essential and routine preventative care. A focus on prevention means potential issues are detected ensuring early intervention. With that in mind, it is worth mentioning that a health plan is different from pet insurance. Insurance provides financial cover for unexpected treatment, such as for treatment after an accident or emergency. To find out more, we recently wrote a useful blog on pet insurance, linked here
